Pillowcase Workshop

Tuesday, March 30, we gathered at Hollin Hall Senior Center to make pillowcases for those in need. We set the stage with several work stations, employed assembly-line techniques
and after 3 1/2 hours we completed 84 beautiful pillowcases finished inside and out with no raw edges! The twelve participants had a great time working together and enjoyed lots of good conversation while we worked.

Our fearless leader, Lynne Fishburn, kept us busy using management skills learned while touring a Ford Assembly plant.

First Beverly Krysa cut the fabrics

Joan Peake was another "cut up"

Gigi Corbin prepared the "Hot Dogs"

More Hot Dogs from Nancy Barkume

Lynn Eccleston sewed the "Hot dogs"

As did Bert Garrino

Sonia Gondol and Faye Schimmel opened the hot dogs and turned the pillowcases

Libby Dudley ironed the combined pieces

Agnes Purcell sewed the pillowcase together
Ro Coller did the final stitching to complete the french seam

Joan Bingman turned and pressed the completed pillowcase

And here we are displaying the fruits of our labor
