January 2015 Show & Tell

Lynn Miller -- Tom & Jerry Panel for charity quilt

Lynn Miller -- Tree of Life Panel with added embroidered lettering
"It is a Tree of Life for those who hold fast to it," is a phrase used to describe dedication to the Torah.

Lynn Miller -- Slanted Star of David
"Blocks were pieced by members to be given to Beth El Hebrew Congregation in appreciation for allowing us to use free space for 2014 Quilt-In."

Carolyn Paden -- Mystery Block of the Month from Fabric Essentials from the pattern Radiance with Animal All Stars

Carolyn Paden -- 2013 Fat Quarter Shop Mystery Quilt

 Libby Dudley -- table runner
"A scrap of 'cheater cloth' seemed perfect for a table."

Libby Dudley -- Rose Garden Celebration
"This was made from tiny triangles found among fabrics donated to MVQU years ago.  Ro Coller encouraged me to 'do something' with them.   It took years, but here it is.  And there are still bits left over.  The 'briar' look of the quilting helps cover a multitude of imperfections."

T Carter -- Pete Falk and His Gas Station, History, Legend, and Lore
an original pattern.
The label reads
"Pete Falk's gas station, circa late 1940/early 1950s. Located at the corner of County Road 1 and Highway 60, Mountain Lake, Minnesota.  Pete is leaning against the building, right hand side.  I found this black & white photograph in my mom's collection, which inspired my quilt/project."

Bottom panel -- photographs of Pete

Top panel -- Pete's gas station in full color

Bottle caps and beads that join two panels
