Enjoy last month's Show & Tell.
Kathy calls this stunning lavender quilt "The Experiment." The use of fabric paint and rubbings allowed Kathy to create batik like effects on her fabrics. Kathy will continue with her experiment by using this quilt to try out a new approach to binding showcased by award winning quilter Sharon Shambler. Visit http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4PE0Yq9iGlc for Sharon's tips to make a perfect binding.
This small wall hanging put Carol's serger to the test... love the embellishments.
Pat's reverse appliqued "Fuschia Flamingo" is up for grabs at our fund raiser on September 23, 2008.
Vowing to finish up some of those UFOs (unfinished opportunities) over the summer, Lynn Fishburn shared 3 completed tops... only 11 more to go! "Pinwheel Pandemonium" is one of Lynn's favorites which may one day become an heirloom passed on along with a matching baby quilt.
Lynn did justice with all of the beautiful hand quilting to a Counted Cross Stitch top started by her Mother.
"Turning Twenty Again" was the perfect quilt to showcase this beautiful collection of Amy Butler botanical prints.
Ann Marlin finished this beautiful Red, Black and White quilt over her summer.
Frankie Carroll's quilt, "Almost Amish," shows off the stunning effect of energy through the use of color gradation.
Kay Brill shows off her collection of red fabrics received from her secret pal in this scrappy quilt
Another "President Star" inspired quilt... Kay used more red to add sparkle to the center of her black and white stars and incorporated a linen towel tucked away until the perfect project came along. Now this quilt is the perfect heirloom to pass onto her grand nephew, a graduate from West Point.
After a year of meticulous hand piecing and quilting, Barbara Zygiel's "Twisted Ribbon Bow" is a real show stopper.
Beth Smith finished off a collection of blocks won at last year's silent auction with a stunning border and beautiful quilting. Perfect!
Bert Garino enjoys working on her own quilt designs and reaps the benefits of working in a series. #4 in her series is "Purple is for Pansies" and features a center medallion of embellished thread painted pansies.
#5, "Poppies in Provance," serves as a memoir of a recent trip with her husband to France. The circles are made of traditionally Provincial fabrics and placed on an umber background representing the hillside.
Catherine shows off a favorite quilt made by her mother, Beverly Dasch. "Ruby Slippers" was a gift for her high school graduation.
"Whirling Dervish" is Rhonda Adams' second quilt made using techniques taught by Dena Crain on http://www.quiltuniversity.com/%20meeting

Practicing techniques for an upcoming and much anticipated workshop with Ruth McDowell, Rhonda pieced these pumpkins from Ruth's book, Pieced Vegetables, focusing on inset and Y seams.
"Ruffles," a gift for her sister, gave Rhonda the perfect place to practice machine applique and some free motion quilting... it wouldn't have been complete without the help of friend and quilter, Aby Dolinger, who helped finish off the quilting in the border sections.
Elizabeth Eastmond, our friend from far away, shares her completed 2007-2008 BOM. "It's inagural voyage was a beach trip with my son, Dave, and grandkids... perfect for a picnic!"
Mt. Vernon's 'Bag Ladies' show off their tote bags from this summer's challenge... perfect for toting those quilts for Show & Tell. Well done Kathy, Barbara, Bert, Lynn, and Carol.
